About the Online News and Session Summaries

The summaries contained in the Online News service are based in many hours of volunteer work. A system was carefully designed to assist volunteer writers of varying backgrounds distill the main conclusions into a brief summary. During the Forum itself, over 40 volunteer reporters were assigned to each of the sessions to document the presentations. These summaries form the basis of much of this Online News service.

It is important to bear in mind that the summaries are not intended to serve as a chronology of each session, nor do they necessarily represent the views of the Forum. Instead, they are an attempt by individual reporters to capture the major findings and best practices from the hundreds of presentations of WCSF as concisely as possible.

While we have edited the summaries for grammatical and stylistic consistency, we regret that we cannot guarantee the accuracy of all facts presented in the summaries. We apologize in advance for any omissions, inaccuracies or misspelled names. The volunteers involved truly should be applauded for their efforts to try to give anyone who is interested a chance to learn lessons from every session.

Editorials were written by the journalists who participated in the Training for Journalists. The training was an opportunity for journalists from developing countries to gain experience with writing about international issues and share good practices with their colleagues in Geneva.

The online news service and session reporting system was developed by m.c. art design communications (MCART) and International Conference Volunteers (ICV). For more information, please contact info@icvolunteers.org or info@mcart.org.
