About the Summaries
The summaries appearing in the online news were written and edited by volunteer reporters. A system was carefully designed to assist volunteer writers of varying backgrounds to distill the main conclusions of the sessions into brief summaries. During the Forum itself, over 40 volunteer reporters were assigned to each of the sessions to document the presentations.
It is important to bear in mind that the summaries are not intended to serve as a minute of each session, nor do they necessarily represent the views of the Forum. Instead, they are an attempt by volunteer reporters to capture the major findings and ideas from the hundreds of presentations of the World Civil Society Forum as concisely as possible. We hope it will give all those interested a chance to learn from our sessions.
While we have edited the summaries for grammatical and stylistic consistency, we apologize in advance for any omissions, inaccuracies or misspelled names. It is our hope, that while reading the summaries, you will find them useful and you will keep in mind the many enthusiastic and skilled volunteers who devoted long hours to synthesizing the results of the Forum.
